What You Need to Know
The design, sale, and support of NEC on-premise PBX phone systems, including the SL2100, SV9100, and other legacy solution, are in the process of being phased out. All NEC On-Premises Unified Communications (UC) products, applications, and peripherals are encompassed in this sunset. Businesses with NEC on-premise UC phone solutions will soon find themselves with limited options in maintaining their communications platform, a critical part of your everyday operations.
What does that mean for you?
- No new phone systems will be sold. As of December 31, 2024, companies will need to rely on online retailers or refurbished items for phone devices.
- No new development. There will be no further OS updates, patches, or security updates provided as of March 31, 2026.
- No support. NEC will no longer provide technical support for the on-premise system after March 31, 2026.
